For more than a century, Imperial has been a leading energy producer in Canada, applying innovative extraction and refinery techniques. Imperial has continuously been a strong supporter of site reclamation, funding projects for borrow-pit and well-pad restoration. The Aspen project is the latest restoration project on Imperial leased land. Imperial will provide funding and support, as well as additional equipment for the project.
Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) is a leader in wetland conservation, aiming to conserve, restore and manage wetland habitat for waterfowl, wildlife and people. DUC’s National Boreal Program has over 25 years of experience partnering with governments, industry, academia, and Indigenous Peoples to develop comprehensive, science-based solutions to wetland challenges and support conservation efforts through sharing and exchanging knowledge. DUC’s vast experience facilitating knowledge transfer amongst practitioners, and wetland mapping expertise, will be an asset to the Aspen project.
Alberta Innovates is an Edmonton based company that provides funding, advice and connections for research and innovation in Alberta. Since 1921 they have been working with partners to fund innovative research in Alberta, focusing on clean resources and net-zero emissions. They were the first provincial research agency in Canada. Their commitment to this research project will be invaluable.
